Content ID & Audio Fingerprinting Prohibition: The licensee is strictly prohibited from registering the licensed instrumental, or any derivative work containing it, into Content ID or any other audio recognition system (e.g., YouTube Content ID, Meta Rights Manager, TuneCore, DistroKid). Doing so constitutes a material breach of the license agreement.

FAQ

Common questions

Where do I find my verification code?

It’s in your purchase email and on your order receipt. It looks like MT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

I lost my code. What can I do?

Check your purchase email and the receipt in your account. If you still can’t find it, contact us with the email address you used for the order and we’ll send it again.

How do I know this certificate is genuine?

The address in your browser should start with themoodtape.com/license/. Anyone can type the code into the Verify form to confirm it, and a printed copy includes a link back to this page.

What should I send to YouTube or my distributor?

Send the link to this page, the printed or saved PDF certificate, and the PDF listed under your beat, which includes the sample documentation when your beat has one. Together they show who licensed the beat, to whom, on which terms, and that the sample inside it is licensed too.

What if I get a Content ID claim?

It can happen even with a valid license, because automated systems match audio, not paperwork. Claims often come from other producers or artists who used the same sample. Dispute the claim through YouTube or your distributor and include the link to this page along with the PDF contract attached to your beat.

A claim came from someone using the same sample?

This happens when the same sample is licensed to many people, for example from a royalty-free library, and one of them registers a song with Content ID. Dispute the claim, explain that the claimed audio is a licensed sample used in a beat you licensed, and attach this certificate, the link to this page and the sample documentation listed under your beat. Once the sample license is shown, a claim that comes only from a shared sample should be released.

Does the license cover the samples inside the beat?

It depends on the beat, and the document under each beat says which case applies. Royalty-free samples are licensed to us by the sample provider for use in new music, which is why other producers can legitimately use the same sample. For beats with licensed sample documentation, check whether your finished song needs any additional clearance before release. If no document is shown, check the license agreement sent with your order.

Can I use the beat on YouTube and streaming platforms?

Yes, within the limits of your license: copies sold, streams, music videos, radio stations, paid performances and sync use. The limits are listed under each beat and on our Pricing page.

What do “Valid” and “Revoked” mean?

Valid means the order is paid and has not been refunded; the status is checked live every time this page opens. Revoked means the order was refunded, and refunded items are no longer licensed.

Is this page my contract?

No. It confirms your purchase. The legal terms are in the PDF license agreement attached to your order, and the PDF link under each beat shows the specific rights included. The files and limits shown under each beat are a summary.
